1 2 #1. Page 1, line 23, by striking the words "and
1 3 for all subsequent tax years,".
1 4 #2. Page 1, line 28, by inserting after the word
1 5 "dollars." the following: "For a tax year beginning
1 6 in the 1998 calendar year, subtract, to the extent
1 7 included, the total amount for a person who files a
1 8 separate state income tax return up to a maximum of
1 9 six thousand dollars, and for a husband and wife who
1 10 file a joint state income tax return up to a maximum
1 11 of twelve thousand dollars. For a tax year beginning
1 12 in the 1999 calendar year, subtract, to the extent
1 13 included, the total amount for a person who files a
1 14 separate state income tax return up to a maximum of
1 15 twelve thousand dollars, and for a husband and wife
1 16 who file a joint state income tax return up to a
1 17 maximum of twenty-four thousand dollars. For a tax
1 18 year beginning in the 2000 calendar year, and for all
1 19 subsequent tax years, subtract, to the extent
1 20 included, the total amount."
