  1  1    Amend Senate File 358 as follows:
  1  2    #1.  Page 2, line 19, by inserting after the word
  1  3 "department." the following:  "A person who is found
  1  4 to be an habitual offender may be assessed a fee by
  1  5 the department to cover the costs of the habitual
  1  6 offender proceedings.  Fees assessed shall be paid
  1  7 before the person may be issued a license or permit to
  1  8 operate a motor vehicle in this state."
  1  9    #2.  Title page, line 3, by inserting after the
  1 10 word "status" the following:  ", and providing for the
  1 11 payment of fees".
