1 2 #1. Page 3, by inserting after line 3 the

1 4 "Sec. 3. Section 156.3, Code 1995, is amended to
1 5 read as follows:
1 6 156.3 ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS.
1 7 To be eligible to take the examination for a
1 8 funeral director's license, a person must have
1 9 completed two academic years of instruction in a
1 10 recognized college or university in a course of study
1 11 approved by the board or have equivalent education as
1 12 defined by the board and have satisfactorily completed
1 13 a course of instruction in mortuary science in an
1 14 accredited school approved by the board. After July
1 15 1, 1997, to be eligible to take the examination for a
1 16 funeral director's license, a person must possess a
1 17 bachelor of arts or bachelor of science degree from a
1 18 regionally accredited college or university and must
1 19 also have satisfactorily completed a course of
1 20 instruction in mortuary science in an accredited
1 21 school approved by the board."
