House Study Bill 701

  1  1    Section 1.  Section 321.299, Code 1995, is amended by
  1  2 adding the following new unnumbered paragraph:
  1  3    NEW UNNUMBERED PARAGRAPH.  A vehicle shall not operate in
  1  4 the farthest lane to the left on a rural multilaned highway
  1  5 unless the vehicle is overtaking or passing another vehicle in
  1  6 accordance with this section or unless the vehicle is not
  1  7 impeding traffic.  
  1  8                           EXPLANATION
  1  9    This bill prohibits a vehicle from operating in the
  1 10 farthest lane to the left on a rural multilaned highway unless
  1 11 the vehicle is passing another vehicle or unless the vehicle
  1 12 is not impeding traffic.  The scheduled fine for a violation
  1 13 of this bill is $15.
