  1  1    Section 1.  Section 483A.27, subsection 2, Code 1995, is
  1  2 amended to read as follows:
  1  3    2.  A certificate of completion shall not be issued to a
  1  4 person who has not satisfactorily completed a minimum of ten
  1  5 hours of training in an approved hunter safety and ethics
  1  6 education course.  The department shall establish the
  1  7 curriculum for the first ten hours of an approved hunter
  1  8 safety and ethics education course offered in this state.
  1  9 Upon completion of the ten-hour curriculum, a certificate of
  1 10 completion shall be awarded to the applicant.  An examination
  1 11 score of sixty-five percent or higher shall not be required
  1 12 for the award of the certificate.  
  1 13                           EXPLANATION
  1 14    This bill provides that an examination score of 65 percent
  1 15 or higher is required to satisfactorily complete the hunter
  1 16 safety and ethics education course which is administered by
  1 17 the department of natural resources.
