1 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION NO.
1 2 BY HALVORSON and TYRRELL
1 3 A Resolution recognizing the Independent Insurance
1 4 Agents of America, Inc., for 100 years of service.
1 5 WHEREAS, The Independent Insurance Agents of
1 6 America, Inc. (IIAA), is celebrating 100 years of
1 7 service as an association, having been founded in
1 8 Chicago, Illinois, in 1896; and
1 9 WHEREAS, the state association of Independent
1 10 Insurance Agents of Iowa, Inc., is celebrating 90
1 11 years of service as an association, having been
1 12 founded in 1906, and has helped serve the small
1 13 business community and the state on behalf of the
1 14 national association; and
1 15 WHEREAS, IIAA is a voluntary federation of state
1 16 associations and local boards, with more than 300,000
1 17 independent insurance agents and their employees,
1 18 proudly serving every state in the union; and
1 19 WHEREAS, IIAA has an illustrious history
1 20 establishing itself as one of the nation's largest and
1 21 oldest independent agents association known for its
1 22 strength and effectiveness; and
1 23 WHEREAS, IIAA continues to maintain its original
1 24 grassroots structure dedicated to fair practices in
1 25 the marketplace and high business standards for the
1 26 association and its members; and
1 27 WHEREAS, IIAA members rely on a commitment to
1 28 competition, professionalism, and education to ensure
1 29 public confidence and choice in the insurance
1 30 industry; and
2 1 WHEREAS, many thousands of consumers have benefited
2 2 from the outstanding leadership and dedication this
2 3 association has provided to the industry and its
2 4 members; NOW THEREFORE,
2 5 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES,
2 6 That the Independent Insurance Agents of America,
2 7 Inc., be recognized for 100 years of service, and that
2 8 the state association of Independent Insurance Agents
2 9 of Iowa, Inc., be recognized for 90 years of service,
2 10 to the consumers and agents of this state.
2 11 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Chief Clerk of the
2 12 House of Representatives prepare official copies of
2 13 this Resolution for presentation to the Independent
2 14 Insurance Agents of America, Inc., and to the state
2 15 association of Independent Insurance Agents of Iowa,
2 16 Inc.
