1 3 A House Resolution congratulating the Iowa State
1 4 Cyclones Men's Basketball Team.
1 5 WHEREAS, the citizens of Iowa are greatly pleased
1 6 that the Iowa State Cyclones Men's Basketball Team, in
1 7 Head Coach Tim Floyd's second season, exceeded all
1 8 expectations in compiling a 24-9 record; and
1 9 WHEREAS, the Iowa State Cyclones Men's Basketball
1 10 Team delighted all fans and all Iowans by winning the
1 11 Big Eight Conference Basketball Tournament; and
1 12 WHEREAS, the Iowa State Cyclones Men's Basketball
1 13 Team finished second in the regular season Big Eight
1 14 Conference race; and
1 15 WHEREAS, Iowans are justly proud that the Iowa
1 16 State Cyclones Men's Basketball Team was invited to
1 17 participate in the 1996 NCAA tournament; and
1 18 WHEREAS, the Iowa State Cyclones Men's Basketball
1 19 Team thrilled Iowans with its win in the first round
1 20 of the NCAA tournament; NOW THEREFORE,
1 21 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES,
1 22 That Coach Tim Floyd and the Iowa State Cyclones Men's
1 23 Basketball Team be congratulated on their successful
1 24 season and be thanked for the honor and excitement
1 25 they brought to the state of Iowa.
