1 1 Section 1. NEW SECTION. 237A.30 CHILD DAY CARE –
1 2 PAYMENT RATE.
1 3 A child day care provider who provides child day care
1 4 services which are reimbursed by state funds shall be
1 5 reimbursed in an amount which is the lesser of the maximum
1 6 rate established by the department or the rate paid to child
1 7 day care providers by persons who are not receiving child day
1 8 care assistance through the expenditure of state funds.
1 9 Sec. 2. Section 249C.12, Code 1995, is amended by adding
1 10 the following new unnumbered paragraph:
1 11 NEW UNNUMBERED PARAGRAPH. A child day care provider who
1 12 provides child day care services to children due to the
1 13 absence from the home of a person participating in work or
1 14 training under the program shall be reimbursed in an amount
1 15 which is the lesser of the maximum rate established by the
1 16 department or the rate paid to child day care providers by
1 17 persons who are not receiving child day care assistance
1 18 through the expenditure of state funds.
1 19 EXPLANATION
1 20 This bill provides that the rate paid for child day care
1 21 provided under the job opportunities and basic skills (JOBS)
1 22 program or reimbursed by state funds is to be the lesser of
1 23 the maximum rate established by the department of human
1 24 services or the rate paid for persons who are not receiving
1 25 state assistance.
