1 1 Section 1. EXTENDED OR SECOND DEER SEASON. The natural
1 2 resource commission shall extend the open season or set a
1 3 second open season during the 1996 hunting season in those
1 4 zones where the population of deer is not being controlled by
1 5 the regular hunting season. The extended or second open
1 6 season shall be for antlerless deer only. During the extended
1 7 or second open season for antlerless deer, a hunter may use a
1 8 deer hunting license purchased for the regular season or
1 9 purchase a deer hunting license for the fee specified in
1 10 section 483A.1.
1 11 EXPLANATION
1 12 This bill provides that the natural resource commission
1 13 shall extend the open season or set a second open season
1 14 during the 1996 hunting season in those zones where the
1 15 population of deer is not being controlled by the regular
1 16 hunting season. The extended or second season is limited to
1 17 antlerless deer only.
