  1  1    Section 1.  Section 34A.2, subsection 6, paragraph e,
  1  2 subparagraph (2), Code 1995, is amended to read as follows:
  1  3    (2)  Recurring costs, including, but not limited to,
  1  4 network access fees and other telephone charges, software,
  1  5 equipment, and database management, and maintenance, including
  1  6 the purchase or lease of subscriber names, addresses, and
  1  7 telephone information from the local exchange service
  1  8 provider.  Recurring costs shall not include personnel costs
  1  9 for a public safety answering point.  
  1 10                           EXPLANATION
  1 11    This bill amends the definition of recurring costs related
  1 12 to the E911 emergency telephone system by striking language
  1 13 which provides that recurring costs do not include personnel
  1 14 costs for a public safety answering point.
