  1  1    Section 1.  Section 1C.2, Code 1995, is amended by adding
  1  2 the following new subsection:
  1  3    NEW SUBSECTION.  5A.  Election day, the first Tuesday after
  1  4 the first Monday in November of each even-numbered year.  
  1  5                           EXPLANATION
  1  6    This bill adds the general election day, which is the first
  1  7 Tuesday after the first Monday in November, to the list of
  1  8 paid holidays for state employees.
