1 1 Section 1. Section 331.215, subsection 2, Code 1995, is
1 2 amended to read as follows:
1 3 2. A supervisor is entitled to reimbursement for mileage
1 4 expenses incurred while engaged in the performance of official
1 5 duties at the rate specified in section 70A.9. However, a
1 6 supervisor shall not be reimbursed for mileage expenses
1 7 incurred for travel between the supervisor's residence and the
1 8 county courthouse. The total mileage expense for all
1 9 supervisors in a county shall not exceed the product of the
1 10 rate of mileage specified in section 70A.9 multiplied by the
1 11 total number of supervisors in the county times ten thousand.
1 12 The board may also authorize reimbursement for mileage and
1 13 other actual expenses incurred by its members when attending
1 14 an educational course, seminar, or school which is related to
1 15 the performance of their official duties.
1 16 EXPLANATION
1 17 This bill prohibits mileage reimbursement for mileage
1 18 expense incurred for travel between the residence of a county
1 19 supervisor and the county courthouse.
