  1  1    Amend House File 2235 as follows:
  1  2    #1.  Page 10, by inserting after line 14 the
  1  3 following:
  1  4    "Sec.    .  Section 523H.8, Code Supplement 1995,
  1  5 is amended by adding the following new subsection:
  1  6    NEW SUBSECTION.  3.  A franchisor shall not refuse
  1  7 to renew a franchise if the refusal is for the purpose
  1  8 of converting the franchisee's business into an
  1  9 operation that will be owned directly or indirectly by
  1 10 the franchisor."
  1 11    #2.  By renumbering as necessary.
