PAG LIN 1 1 Amend House File 584 as follows: 1 2 #1. Page 1, by inserting after line 23 the 1 3 following: 1 4 "Sec. . Of the moneys appropriated to the state 1 5 board of regents and allocated to Iowa state 1 6 university of science and technology for the 1 7 agricultural experiment station for the fiscal year 1 8 beginning July 1, 1995, and ending June 30, 1996, in 1 9 1995 Iowa Acts, Senate File 266, if enacted by the 1 10 general assembly, $100,000 shall be expended to 1 11 support a beginning farmer center as provided in 1 12 section 266.39E. 1 13 Sec. . 1995 Iowa Acts, Senate File 266, section 1 14 1, subsection 11, unnumbered paragraph 2, if enacted, 1 15 is amended to read as follows: 1 16 Of the funds appropriated in this subsection, for 1 17 the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1995, and ending 1 18 June 30, 1996, $50,000shallmay be expended for 1 19 purposes of employing an individual to administer and 1 20 direct the careeropportunitiespathways program. The 1 21 individual employed shall possess a background in 1 22 business and secondary and postsecondary education. 1 23 Sec. . 1995 Iowa Acts, House File 579, section 1 24 12, if enacted by the General Assembly, is amended to 1 25 read as follows: 1 26 SEC. 12. GENERAL FUND SALARY MONEYS. Funds 1 27 appropriated from the general fund of the state in 1 28 this Act relate only to salaries supported from 1 29 general fund appropriations of the state except for 1 30 employees of the state board of regents. It is the 1 31 intent of the general assembly that the department of 1 32 management and the legislative fiscal bureau in 1 33 conjunction with the state agency affected by this 1 34 sectiontoshall prepare recommendations concerning 1 35 the application of this section and present them to 1 36 the general assembly not later than February 1, 1996. 1 37 Sec. . Notwithstanding the number of full-time 1 38 equivalent positions authorized for the department of 1 39 education for general administration in 1995 Iowa 1 40 Acts, Senate File 266, if enacted by the general 1 41 assembly, the department shall be authorized 94.95 1 42 FTEs for general administration for the fiscal year 1 43 beginning July 1, 1995, and ending June 30, 1996. The 1 44 additional 1.0 FTE shall be funded from moneys 1 45 transferred in 1995 Iowa Acts, Senate File 266 to the 1 46 department of education from additional funds 1 47 transferred from phase 1 to phase III for development 1 48 of a K-12 and community college management information 1 49 system. The provision in 1995 Iowa Acts, Senate File 1 50 266, requiring the department of education to devote 2 1 one full-time equivalent position under general 2 2 administration to direct and administer the management 2 3 information system, is void. 2 4 Sec. . EFFECTIVE DATE. This Act, being deemed 2 5 of immediate importance, takes effect upon enactment." 2 6 #2.
