1 1 Amend the amendment, H-3985, to Senate File 481, as
1 2 amended, passed, and reprinted by the Senate, as
1 3 follows:
1 4 #1. Page 1, by striking line 43 and inserting the
1 5 following:
1 6 .................................................. $ 21,960,473".
1 7 Of the moneys appropriated in this paragraph, a
1 8 sufficient amount shall be allocated to provide
1 9 effective and necessary oversight of the county
1 10 treasurers' issuance of motor vehicle licenses in
1 11 accordance with this Act."
1 12 #2. Page 4, line 28, by inserting after the word
1 13 "licenses" the following: "and the administration of
1 14 written tests".
1 15 #3. Page 4, by inserting after line 28 the
1 16 following:
1 17 "Sec. . 1993 Iowa Acts, chapter 169, section
1 18 14, subsection 2, is amended by adding the following
1 19 new paragraph:
1 20 NEW PARAGRAPH. f. The county treasurers shall be
1 21 subject to the supervision of the state department of
1 22 transportation and shall be considered agents of the
1 23 department when performing motor vehicle licensing
1 24 functions."
1 25 #4. Page 6, by inserting after line 10 the
1 26 following:
1 27 "Sec. . The provisions of section 8.33 do not
1 28 apply to the $70,000 appropriation to the state
1 29 department of transportation for a study to determine
1 30 the potential costs and benefits of the development of
1 31 rail passenger service between Cedar Rapids and Iowa
1 32 City, made in 1994 Iowa Acts, chapter 1189, section 8,
1 33 subsection 1, paragraph "a", but shall remain
1 34 available for expenditure until June 30, 1996.
1 35 Unencumbered or unobligated moneys remaining on June
1 36 30, 1996, shall revert to the general fund of the
1 37 state on August 31, 1996."
1 38 #5. Page 6, line 35, by striking the words "and
1 39 certain use tax revenues".
1 40 #6. By renumbering as necessary.
