1 1 Amend the amendment, H-3498, to Senate File 266, as
1 2 amended, passed, and reprinted by the Senate, as
1 3 follows:
1 4 #1. Page 19, by inserting after line 6 the
1 5 following:
1 6 "Sec. 202. Section 262.9, Code 1995, is amended by
1 7 adding the following new subsection:
1 8 NEW SUBSECTION. 30. Reduce the expenditure of
1 9 funds available to the institutions of higher learning
1 10 under the control of the board for faculty development
1 11 leaves for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1996, and
1 12 ending June 30, 1997, by ten percent of the
1 13 replacement costs and salaries and benefit costs for
1 14 the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1995, and ending
1 15 June 30, 1996. The institutions shall not reduce
1 16 general student financial aid for the fiscal year
1 17 beginning July 1, 1996, and ending June 30, 1997, in
1 18 an effort to supplant funds for faculty development
1 19 leaves. It is the intent of the general assembly to
1 20 reduce the funds appropriated to the institutions of
1 21 higher learning under the control of the board in the
1 22 fiscal year beginning July 1, 1996, and ending June
1 23 30, 1997, by an amount equivalent to the amount by
1 24 which institutions reduce the funds available for
1 25 faculty development leaves as provided in this
1 26 subsection."
1 27 #2. Page 20, by inserting after line 10 the
1 28 following:
1 29 "Sec. . Section 202 of this Act is repealed
1 30 effective July 1, 1997."
