  1  1    Amend the amendment, H-3009, to Senate File 13, as
  1  2 amended, passed, and reprinted by the Senate as
  1  3 follows:
  1  4    #1.  Page 4, by inserting after line 4 the
  1  5 following:
  1  6    "#   .  Page 13, by inserting after line 14, the
  1  7 following:
  1  8    "g.  Develop a video and written materials which
  1  9 address the issue of pregnancy prevention.  The video
  1 10 and written materials shall be made available to all
  1 11 public and nonpublic schools in Iowa offering
  1 12 instruction in grades nine through twelve and shall be
  1 13 used as a part of the health education curriculum.
  1 14 The video shall focus on pregnancy prevention by
  1 15 emphasizing sexual abstinence; by providing
  1 16 information regarding the comparative failure rates of
  1 17 contraceptives; by providing information regarding the
  1 18 responsibilities, including the financial
  1 19 responsibilities, associated with pregnancy and
  1 20 support of a child; and by emphasizing responsible
  1 21 decision making, development of self-esteem, and the
  1 22 managing of peer pressure.""
  1 23    #2.  Page 4, by inserting after line 43 the
  1 24 following:
  1 25    "#   .  Page 15, by inserting before line 30, the
  1 26 following:
  1 27    "Sec.    .  Section 256.11, subsection 5, paragraph
  1 28 j, Code 1995, is amended by adding the following new
  1 29 unnumbered paragraph:
  1 30    NEW UNNUMBERED PARAGRAPH.  The health education
  1 31 program shall include the viewing of the video and
  1 32 provision of the written materials created by the
  1 33 advisory committee pursuant to section 135L.5 relating
  1 34 to pregnancy prevention.""
