1 3 #1. Page 13, by inserting after line 14, the
1 4 following:
1 5 "g. Develop a video and written materials which
1 6 address the issue of pregnancy prevention. The video
1 7 and written materials shall be made available to all
1 8 public and nonpublic schools in Iowa offering
1 9 instruction in grades nine through twelve and shall be
1 10 used as a part of the health education curriculum.
1 11 The video shall focus on pregnancy prevention by
1 12 emphasizing sexual abstinence; by providing
1 13 information regarding the comparative failure rates of
1 14 contraceptives; by providing information regarding the
1 15 responsibilities, including the financial
1 16 responsibilities, associated with pregnancy and
1 17 support of a child; and by emphasizing responsible
1 18 decision making, development of self-esteem, and the
1 19 managing of peer pressure."
1 20 #2. Page 15, by inserting before line 30, the
1 21 following:
1 22 "Sec. . Section 256.11, subsection 5, paragraph
1 23 j, Code 1995, is amended by adding the following new
1 24 unnumbered paragraph:
1 25 NEW UNNUMBERED PARAGRAPH. The health education
1 26 program shall include the viewing of the video and
1 27 provision of the written materials created by the
1 28 advisory committee pursuant to section 135L.5 relating
1 29 to pregnancy prevention."
