A bill for an act relating to the sentencing of criminal defendants, by requiring an assessment of risk posed by a defendant to the presentence investigations, by permitting the court to waive imposition of mandatory minimum penalties for certain drug offenders, providing for imposition of alternative sentences within the parameters of the indeterminate term established for an offense, and providing that appeal of certain sentences be by writ of certiorari.
