The National Anthem was sung by the Show Hawks from Hartley-
Melvin-Sanborn High School, Hartley. They were the guests of
Representative Royd Chambers from O'Brien.
The Journal of Tuesday, March 11, 2003 was approved.
PETITION FILED
The following petition was received and placed on file:
By Boal of Polk from one hundred ninety-four constituents of the
70th District opposing House File 388, relating to the imposition of a
revenue nondistribution tax on certain credit unions.
INTRODUCTION OF BILLS
House Joint Resolution 9, by Ford and B. Hansen, a joint
resolution directing the commissioner of insurance to solicit
slaveholder insurance policy records from the archives of Iowa-
licensed insurance companies.
Read first time and referred to committee on commerce,
regulation and labor.
House File 506, by committee on economic growth, a bill for an
act renaming the department of economic development and the Iowa
economic development board.
Read first time and placed on the calendar.
