House File 466, by Fallon and Petersen, a bill for an act relating
to condemnation of agricultural land for recreational trails in certain
counties.

House File 467, by Mascher, a bill for an act providing individual
and corporate income tax credits to businesses that provide
apprenticeships and internships for students at community colleges
or state board of regents institutions and for subsequent employment,
and including effective and retroactive applicability date provisions.
Read first time and referred to committee on ways and means.
QUORUM CALL
A non-record roll call was requested to determine that a quorum
was present. The vote revealed eighty-one members present,
nineteen absent.

House File 342, a bill for an act relating to the use of sick leave
by certain members of the Iowa department of public safety peace
officers' retirement, accident, and disability system who are
temporarily incapacitated for duty, was taken up for consideration.
Connors of Polk offered the following amendment H-1035 filed by
Connors, et al., and moved its adoption:

1 Amend House File 342 as follows:
2 1. Page 1, by inserting after line 16, the
3 following:
4 "Sec. . EFFECTIVE DATE. This Act, being deemed
5 of immediate importance, takes effect upon enactment."
