The House met pursuant to adjournment at 1:03 p.m., Speaker
Rants in the chair.
Prayer was offered by Reverend Darran Whiting, pastor of Calvary
Baptist Church, Coggon. He was the guest of Representative Kraig
Paulsen of Linn County.
The Journal of Friday, February 7, 2003 was approved.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Klaire O'Rourke, the Minority
Leader's Page from Earlham.
INTRODUCTION OF BILLS
House File 160, by Jochum, a bill for an act relating to the use of
credible data for water quality purposes.
Read first time and referred to committee on environmental
protection.
House File 161, by Heaton, a bill providing for senate
confirmation of the appointment of the administrator of the medical
assistance and healthy and well kids in Iowa programs.
Read first time and referred to committee on human resources.
EXPLANATION OF VOTE
I was necessarily absent from the House chamber on February 6,
2003. Had I been present, I would have voted "aye" on House File 65.
