The House met pursuant to adjournment at 8:45 a.m., Speaker
Rants in the chair.
Prayer was offered by Reverend Daniel Dinardo, Bishop of the
Diocese of Sioux City. He was the guest of Representative Whitead
and Representative Wendt of Woodbury County.
The Journal of Tuesday, January 21, 2003 was approved.
INTRODUCTION OF BILL
House File 38, by Murphy, a bill for an act relating to the
creation of a center for economic development and trade program and
fund, including providing bonding authority to the treasurer of state,
exempting certain income from taxation, and making an
appropriation.
Read first time and referred to committee on economic growth.
On motion by Gipp of Winneshiek, the House was recessed at 8:50
a.m., until 1:00 p.m.
AFTERNOON SESSION
The House reconvened at 12:59 p.m., Speaker Rants in the chair.
INTRODUCTION OF BILLS
House File 39, by Boddicker, a bill for an act relating to the
definition of veteran and providing an effective date.
Read first time and referred to committee on ways and means.
