1 1 Amend Senate File 2298 as follows:
1 2 #1. Page 194, by inserting after line 7 the
1 3 following:
1 4 "Sec. . STATE COURTS – JUSTICES, JUDGES, AND
1 5 MAGISTRATES.
1 6 1. The salary rates specified in subsection 2 are
1 7 for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2004, effective
1 8 for the pay period beginning December 31, 2004, and
1 9 for subsequent fiscal years until otherwise provided
1 10 by the general assembly. The salaries provided for in
1 11 this section shall be paid from funds appropriated to
1 12 the judicial branch pursuant to any Act of the general
1 13 assembly.
1 14 2. The following annual salary rates shall be paid
1 15 to the persons holding the judicial positions
1 16 indicated during the fiscal year beginning July 1,
1 17 2004, effective with the pay period beginning December
1 18 31, 2004, and for subsequent pay periods.
1 19 a. Chief justice of the supreme court:
1 20 .................................................. $ 129,580
1 21 b. Each justice of the supreme court:
1 22 .................................................. $ 124,950
1 23 c. Chief judge of the court of appeals:
1 24 .................................................. $ 124,830
1 25 d. Each associate judge of the court of appeals:
1 26 .................................................. $ 120,210
1 27 e. Each chief judge of a judicial district:
1 28 .................................................. $ 119,100
1 29 f. Each district judge except the chief judge of a
1 30 judicial district:
1 31 .................................................. $ 114,250
1 32 g. Each district associate judge:
1 33 .................................................. $ 99,560
1 34 h. Each associate juvenile judge:
1 35 .................................................. $ 99,560
1 36 i. Each associate probate judge:
1 37 .................................................. $ 99,560
1 38 j. Each judicial magistrate:
1 39 .................................................. $ 29,680
1 40 k. Each senior judge:
1 41 .................................................. $ 6,630
1 42 3. Persons receiving the salary rates established
1 43 under subsection 2 shall not receive any additional
1 44 salary adjustments provided by this division of this
1 45 Act."
