1 1 Section 1. Section 96.4, Code 2003, is amended by adding
1 2 the following new subsection:
1 3 NEW SUBSECTION. 8. The individual has satisfied one one-
1 4 week waiting period during the individual's benefit year. To
1 5 satisfy the one-week waiting period, the individual, with
1 6 respect to the week in question, must be unemployed, have
1 7 filed a claim for benefits, and be eligible for benefits from
1 8 this state, but must not have received benefits from this or
1 9 another state, and must not be eligible for benefits from
1 10 another state.
1 11 EXPLANATION
1 12 This bill requires an individual to wait one week after
1 13 applying for unemployment benefits before the individual will
1 14 be eligible for benefits.
