1 1 Section 1. MEDICAL SUPPORT – HAWK-I OPTION. The supreme
1 2 court, in cooperation with the department of human services,
1 3 shall determine the feasibility of utilizing coverage under
1 4 the hawk-i program to fulfill the medical support obligation
1 5 of parents to a dependent under a medical support order. If
1 6 the court determines that such option is feasible, the supreme
1 7 court shall provide information to judges regarding this
1 8 option and shall require judges to inform the parties to a
1 9 medical support order of this option.
1 10 EXPLANATION
1 11 This bill directs the supreme court, in cooperation with
1 12 the department of human services, to determine the feasibility
1 13 of utilizing coverage under the hawk-i program to fulfill the
1 14 medical support obligation of parents to a dependent under a
1 15 medical support order. The bill provides that if the court
1 16 determines that such an option is feasible, the supreme court
1 17 is directed to provide information to judges to inform them
1 18 about the option and is directed to require judges to inform
1 19 the parties to a medical support order of this option.
