  1  1    Amend the amendment, H-8636, to Senate File 2298,
  1  2 as amended, passed, and reprinted by the Senate, as
  1  3 follows:
  1  4    #1.  Page 1, by inserting after line 2 the
  1  5 following:
  1  6    "#___.  Page 49, by inserting after line 18 the
  1  7 following:
  1  8    "Sec. ___. STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT AND TEACHER QUALITY
  1  9 PROGRAM.  It is the intent of the general assembly
  1 10 that the appropriation for the student achievement and
  1 11 teacher quality program established in section 284.1
  1 12 for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2005, shall be
  1 13 increased by at least $44 million over the amount
  1 14 appropriated for the program for the fiscal year
  1 15 beginning July 1, 2004.""
  1 16    #2.  Page 2, lines 8 and 9, by striking the words
  1 17 "the year preceding" and inserting the following:
  1 18 "the year preceding".
  1 19    #3. By renumbering as necessary.
