  1  1    Amend the Senate amendment, H-8608 to House File
  1  2 2577 as amended, passed, and reprinted by the House,
  1  3 as follows:
  1  4    #1.  Page 1, by inserting after line 2 the
  1  5 following:
  1  6    "#   .  Page 8, by inserting after line 9 the
  1  7 following:
  1  8    "Sec.    .  Section 142A.4, Code 2003, is amended
  1  9 by adding the following new subsection:
  1 10    NEW SUBSECTION.  12A.  Represented by the
  1 11 chairperson of the commission, annually appear before
  1 12 the joint appropriations subcommittee that makes
  1 13 recommendations concerning the commission's budget to
  1 14 report on budget expenditures and division operations
  1 15 relative to the prior fiscal year and the current
  1 16 fiscal year.
  1 17    Sec.    .  Section 142A.5, subsection 1, paragraph
  1 18 b, Code Supplement 2003, is amended to read as
  1 19 follows:
  1 20    b.  Employ a separate division administrator in a
  1 21 full-time equivalent position who shall be responsible
  1 22 for the administration and oversight of the division.
  1 23 The division administrator shall report to and shall
  1 24 serve at the pleasure of the director.  The
  1 25 administrator shall be exempt from the merit system
  1 26 provisions of chapter 8A, subchapter IV.
  1 27    Sec.    .  Section 142A.5, subsection 2, Code
  1 28 Supplement 2003, is amended by adding the following
  1 29 new paragraph:
  1 30    NEW PARAGRAPH.  g.  Provide  necessary information
  1 31 to the commission to assist the commission in making
  1 32 its annual report to the joint appropriations
  1 33 subcommittee pursuant to section 142A.4, subsection
  1 34 12A."
  1 35    #2.  By striking page 1, line 45, through page 2,
  1 36 line 6.
  1 37    #3.  By renumbering as necessary.
