PAG LIN 1 1 Amend House File 583 as follows: 1 2 #1. By striking everything after the enacting 1 3 clause and inserting the following: 1 4 "Section 1. Section 68B.22, subsection 4, 1 5 paragraph e, Code 2003, is amended to read as follows: 1 6 e. Anything available or distributed free of 1 7 charge to members of the general public without regard 1 8 to the official status of the recipient. This 1 9 paragraph shall not apply to receptions described 1 10 under paragraph "r". 1 11 Sec. 2. Section 68B.22, subsection 4, Code 2003, 1 12 is amended by adding the following new paragraph: 1 13 NEW PARAGRAPH. r. Gifts of food, beverage, and 1 14 entertainment received by public officials or public 1 15 employees at a reception where every member of the 1 16 general assembly has been invited to attend, when the 1 17 reception takes place during a regular session of the 1 18 general assembly. A sponsor of a reception under this 1 19 paragraph shall file a report disclosing the total 1 20 amount expended, including in-kind expenditures, on 1 21 food, beverage, and entertainment for the reception. 1 22 The report shall be filed with the secretary of the 1 23 senate, the chief clerk of the house, and the board 1 24 within five business days following the date of the 1 25 reception. 1 26 Sec. 3. Section 68B.38, Code 2003, is amended to 1 27 read as follows: 1 28 68B.38 LOBBYIST'S CLIENT REPORTING. 1 29 1. a. On or beforeJanuary 31 andJuly311 of 1 30 each year, a lobbyist's client shall file with the 1 31 general assembly or board a report that contains 1 32 information on all salaries, fees, and retainers paid 1 33 by the lobbyist's client to the lobbyist for lobbying 1 34 purposes during the precedingsixtwelve calendar 1 35 months. 1 36 b. Reports by a lobbyist's clients shall be filed 1 37 with the same entity with which the lobbyist filed the 1 38 lobbyist's registration. 1 39 2. a. The reportdue January 31shall include a 1 40 cumulative total of all salaries, fees, retainers, and 1 41 reimbursements of expenses paid to the lobbyist for 1 42 lobbying activities during the preceding calendar 1 43 year. 1 44 b. The secretary of the senate, chief clerk of the 1 45 house, and the board shall develop forms to implement 1 46 this section." 1 47 #2.
