1 7 "Sec. . Section 272.25, subsection 4, Code
1 8 2003, is amended to read as follows:
1 9 4. A requirement that prescribes minimum
1 10 experiences and responsibilities to be accomplished
1 11 during the student teaching experience by the student
1 12 teacher and by the cooperating teacher based upon
1 13 recommendations of the department of education after
1 14 consultation with teacher education faculty members in
1 15 colleges and universities. The student teaching
1 16 experience shall include opportunities for the student
1 17 teacher to become knowledgeable about the Iowa
1 18 teaching standards, including a mock evaluation
1 19 performed by the cooperating teacher. The mock
1 20 evaluation shall not be used as an assessment tool by
1 21 the practitioner preparation program. The student
1 22 teaching experience shall consist of interactive
1 23 experiences involving the college or university
1 24 personnel, the student teacher, the cooperating
1 25 teacher, and administrative personnel from the
1 26 cooperating teacher's school district.""
