Senate Chamber
Des Moines, Iowa, Wednesday, February 27, 2002

The Senate met in regular session at 9:18 a.m., President Kramer
presiding.

Prayer was offered by the Reverend Bob Roof, retired pastor of the
Presbyterian Church in Cedar Falls, Iowa. He was the guest of
Senator Redfern.

A moment of silence was observed by the Senate in memory of
Luke Roth, long-time political activist who passed away on
February 26, 2002.

The Journal of Tuesday, February 26, 2002, was approved.

RECESS

On motion of Senator Iverson, the Senate recessed at 9:35 a.m.
until 2:00 p.m.
