EIGHTY-SEVENTH CALENDAR DAY FIFTY-FIRST SESSION DAY Senate Chamber Des Moines, Iowa, Wednesday, April 4, 2001 The Senate met in regular session at 9:10 a.m., President Pro Tempore McKean presiding. Prayer was offered by the Honorable John W. Jensen, member of the Senate from Bremer County, Plainfield, Iowa. The Journal of Tuesday, April 3, 2001, was approved. LEAVES OF ABSENCE Leaves of absence were granted as follows: Senator Lundby, until she arrives, on request of Senator Freeman; and Senator Angelo, until he arrives, on request of Senator McKibben. CONSIDERATION OF BILL (Regular Calendar) Senator Iverson asked and received unanimous consent to take up for consideration Senate File 418. Senate File 418 On motion of Senator McKibben, Senate File 418, a bill for an act relating to unemployment compensation by providing that social security pension payments are nondeductible from unemployment benefits and providing for coverage for employment by an Indian tribe, was taken up for consideration.
