  CONSIDERATION OF RESOLUTION
  (Regular Calendar)

  Senator Iverson asked and received unanimous consent to take up
  for immediate consideration Senate Resolution 21.

  Senate Resolution 21

  On motion of Senator Redfern, Senate Resolution 21, a
  resolution honoring and commemorating the one hundred twenty-
  fifth anniversary of the University of Northern Iowa, with report of
  committee recommending passage, was taken up for consideration.

  Senator Redfern moved the adoption of Senate Resolution 21,
  which motion prevailed by a voice vote.

  University of Northern Iowa President Koob addressed the Senate
  with brief remarks.

  LEAVES OF ABSENCE

  Leaves of absence were granted as follows:

  Senators Gronstal, until he arrives, on request of Senator Kibbie; and
  Senator
  McKean, until he arrives, on request of Senator Iverson.

  CONSIDERATION OF BILLS

  Senator Iverson asked and received unanimous consent to take up
  for consideration Senate Files 57, 209, and 221.

  Senate File 57

  On motion of Senator Gaskill, Senate File 57, a bill for an act
  relating to approval of city ordinances granting certain utility
  franchises, with report of committee recommending amendment and
  passage, was taken up for consideration.
