  AFTERNOON SESSION

  The Senate reconvened at 1:10 p.m., President Pro Tempore
  McKean presiding.

  HOUSE MESSAGES RECEIVED AND CONSIDERED

  The following messages were received from the Chief Clerk of the
  House:

  MADAM PRESIDENT:  I am directed to inform your honorable body that the
  House has on March 1, 2001, passed the following bill in which the
  concurrence of the
  House was asked:

  Senate File 258, a bill for an act relating to the extension of the
  tobacco settlement authority Act, and providing an effective date.

  ALSO:  That the House has on March 1, 2001, adopted the following resolution
  in
  which the concurrence of the Senate is asked:

  House Concurrent Resolution 17, a concurrent resolution
  designating March 2001 as Iowa Women's History Month.

  Read first time and attached to companion Senate Concurrent
  Resolution 10.

  CONSIDERATION OF RESOLUTION
  (Regular Calendar)

  Senator Boettger asked and received unanimous consent to take
  up for immediate consideration Senate Concurrent Resolution 10.

  Senate Concurrent Resolution 10

  On motion of Senator Maddox, Senate Concurrent Resolution 10, a
  concurrent resolution designating March 2001 as Iowa Women's
  History Month, with report of committee recommending passage, was
  taken up for consideration.

  Senator Maddox asked and received unanimous consent that
  House Concurrent Resolution 17 be substituted for Senate
  Concurrent Resolution 10.
