The House met pursuant to adjournment at 1:05 p.m., Speaker
Siegrist in the chair.
Prayer was offered by Reverend De Ann Klapp, pastor of the
United Methodist Church, Pisgah, also of Mondamin and Little Sioux.
She was the guest of Representative Donna Barry of Harrison
County.
The Journal of Friday, March 23, 2001 was approved.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Lance Yedersberger, an
American citizen for four months, formerly from Canada, and his
friend Jerry Yellin, a captain and P-51 pilot in WWII. They were the
guests of the Honorable Rebecca Reynolds from Van Buren County.
LEAVE OF ABSENCE
Leave of absence was granted as follows:
Heaton of Henry on request of Barry of Harrison and Schrader of Marion on request
of Myers of Johnson.
SPECIAL PRESENTATION
Larson of Linn introduced to the House, David Garrison, an artist
from Burlington. His art work is currently displayed on the main
floor of the rotunda.
The House rose and expressed its welcome.
Witt of Black Hawk introduced to the House, Whitney Bauer and
Bryan Slauson, students from Southeast Polk High School in
Runnells. They sang "Unforgettable" in honor of the anniversary of
his secretary, Jean and Senate Doorkeeper, Kermit Tannatt.
