H.S.B. 237 Commerce and Regulation
Establishing the Iowa title insurance agents Act, providing for the
sale of title insurance and for the regulation, licensure, and
supervision of title insurance agents, and providing penalties.
H.S.B. 238 Judiciary
Relating to detaining criminal defendants who are mentally
incompetent or dangerous.
COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATIONS
MR. SPEAKER: The Chief Clerk of the House respectfully reports
that the following committee recommendations have been received
and are on file in the office of the Chief Clerk.

COMMITTEE ON COMMERCE AND REGULATION
Committee Bill (Formerly House Study Bill 223), requiring the pledging of
collateral in relation to the deposit of uninsured public funds, making related changes,
making penalties applicable, and providing for applicability.
Fiscal Note is not required.
Recommended Amend and Do Pass March 15, 2001.
COMMITTEE ON ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
Committee Bill (Formerly House File 533), relating to housing by creating a
housing trust fund and a housing trust commission, transferring certain moneys to the
fund, and changing the allocation of private activity bonds.
Fiscal Note is not required.
Recommended Amend and Do Pass March 14, 2001.
Committee Bill (Formerly House File 616), relating to the school-to-career
program.
Fiscal Note is not required.
Recommended Do Pass March 15, 2001.
