Senate Study Bill 3160

  1  1    Section 1.  Section 805.8A, subsection 10, paragraph b,
  1  2 Code Supplement 2001, is amended to read as follows:
  1  3    b.  For a violation under section 321.372, subsection 3,
  1  4 the scheduled violation fine is one two hundred dollars.  
  1  5                           EXPLANATION
  1  6    This bill increases the scheduled fine for violations of
  1  7 the requirements that motor vehicle operators reduce their
  1  8 speed to 20 miles per hour when meeting a school bus with
  1  9 amber warning lamps flashing, not pass a school bus when
  1 10 overtaking a bus with red or amber warning signal lights
  1 11 flashing, and stop when the school bus stops and its stop
  1 12 signal arm is extended.  The fine is increased from $100 to
  1 13 $200.
