Senate Study Bill 3039

  1  1    Section 1.  Section 49.84, Code 2001, is amended by adding
  1  2 the following new unnumbered paragraph:
  1  3    NEW UNNUMBERED PARAGRAPH.  This section does not prohibit a
  1  4 voter from taking minor children into the voting booth with
  1  5 the voter.
  1  6    Sec. 2.  Section 49.88, Code 2001, is amended by adding the
  1  7 following new unnumbered paragraph:
  1  8    NEW UNNUMBERED PARAGRAPH.  This section does not prohibit a
  1  9 voter from taking minor children into the voting booth with
  1 10 the voter.  
  1 11                           EXPLANATION
  1 12    State law currently prohibits more than one person
  1 13 occupying a voting booth for the purposes of voting.  This
  1 14 bill allows minor children to occupy a voting booth with a
  1 15 voter.
