  1  1    Section 1.  2000 Iowa Acts, chapter 1208, section 24, is
  1  2 amended to read as follows:
  1  3    SEC. 24.  Chapter 12E, Code 2001, is repealed March 1, 2001
  1  4 December 31, 2001.
  1  5    Sec. 2.  EFFECTIVE DATE.  This Act, being deemed of
  1  6 immediate importance, takes effect upon enactment.  
  1  7                           EXPLANATION
  1  8    This bill provides for the extension of the existence of
  1  9 the tobacco settlement authority Act, Code chapter 12E, until
  1 10 December 31, 2001.
  1 11    The bill takes effect upon enactment.
