1 1 SENATE RESOLUTION NO.
1 2 BY COMMITTEE ON RULES AND ADMINISTRATION
1 3 A Resolution honoring Senator Mike Sexton.
1 4 WHEREAS, Senator Mike Sexton has served as a member
1 5 of the Seventy-eighth and Seventy-ninth General
1 6 Assemblies and is retiring after completion of his
1 7 first term as a state senator; and
1 8 WHEREAS, Senator Sexton's distinguished career has
1 9 included service as Chairperson of the Natural
1 10 Resources and Environment Committee and as Vice
1 11 Chairperson of the Transportation Committee and of the
1 12 Agriculture and Natural Resources Appropriations
1 13 Subcommittee; and
1 14 WHEREAS, Senator Sexton's expertise in the areas of
1 15 agriculture and natural resources are well recognized;
1 16 and
1 17 WHEREAS, Senator Sexton has served honorably and
1 18 has unselfishly given of his time and efforts to
1 19 further the interests of the State of Iowa and to
1 20 provide beneficial programs for the citizens of Iowa;
1 21 NOW THEREFORE,
1 22 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE, That the Senate pay
1 23 tribute to Senator Mike Sexton for his devoted service
1 24 to the Iowa General Assembly and the citizens of this
1 25 state, and wish him the very best in the years ahead;
1 26 and
1 27 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That an official copy of
1 28 this Resolution be prepared and presented to Senator
1 29 Sexton.
