1 1 SENATE RESOLUTION NO.
1 2 BY COMMITTEE ON RULES AND ADMINISTRATION
1 3 A Resolution honoring Senator Mary Lou Freeman.
1 4 WHEREAS, Senator Mary Lou Freeman is retiring from
1 5 the Senate to seek another elective office after
1 6 completing nine years in office as a State Senator;
1 7 and
1 8 WHEREAS, Senator Freeman's distinguished career has
1 9 included service as an Assistant Majority Leader for
1 10 the Seventy-seventh General Assembly; and
1 11 WHEREAS, Senator Freeman's legislative career has
1 12 also included service as Chairperson of the Business
1 13 and Labor Relations Committee and of the
1 14 Transportation, Infrastructure, and Capitals
1 15 Appropriations Subcommittee; and as Vice Chairperson
1 16 of the Natural Resources and Environment Committee;
1 17 and
1 18 WHEREAS, Senator Freeman's dedication and expertise
1 19 in the areas of energy, environment, and
1 20 transportation are well recognized; and
1 21 WHEREAS, Senator Freeman has served honorably and
1 22 has unselfishly given of her time and efforts to
1 23 further the interests of the State of Iowa and to
1 24 provide beneficial programs for the citizens of Iowa;
1 25 NOW THEREFORE,
1 26 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE, That the Senate pay
1 27 tribute to Senator Mary Lou Freeman for her devoted
1 28 service to the Iowa General Assembly and the citizens
1 29 of this state, and wish her the very best in the years
1 30 ahead; and
2 1 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That an official copy of
2 2 this Resolution be prepared and presented to Senator
2 3 Freeman.
