  1  1    Section 1.  Section 123.92, unnumbered paragraph 2, Code
  1  2 2001, is amended to read as follows:
  1  3    Every liquor control licensee and class "B" beer permittee,
  1  4 except a class "E" liquor control licensee, shall furnish
  1  5 proof of financial responsibility by the existence of a
  1  6 liability insurance policy or by posting a bond in an amount
  1  7 determined by the division.  
  1  8                           EXPLANATION
  1  9    This bill authorizes each liquor control licensee, except a
  1 10 class "E" liquor control licensee, and each class "B" beer
  1 11 permittee under the Dramshop Act to post a bond in an amount
  1 12 as determined by the alcoholic beverages division of the
  1 13 department of commerce in lieu of securing a liability
  1 14 insurance policy.
