1 1 Section 1. Section 284.2, subsection 2, Code Supplement
1 2 2001, is amended to read as follows:
1 3 2. "Classroom teacher" means an individual who holds a
1 4 valid practitioner's license and who is employed under a
1 5 teaching contract with a school district or area education
1 6 agency in this state to provide classroom instruction to
1 7 students at any or all levels from the prekindergarten level
1 8 through grade twelve.
1 9 EXPLANATION
1 10 This bill expands the definition of "classroom teacher",
1 11 for purposes of the student achievement and teacher quality
1 12 program, to include specifically all licensed teachers
1 13 employed by a school district or area education agency to
1 14 provide classroom instruction for any grade from
1 15 prekindergarten to grade 12.
