1 1 Section 1. NEW SECTION. 124.511 UNDERCOVER
1 2 INVESTIGATIONS – USE OF PERSON UNDER THE AGE OF EIGHTEEN.
1 3 1. A peace officer shall not use a person under the age of
1 4 eighteen in undercover criminal investigations of criminal
1 5 offenses related to this chapter or chapter 124A, 124B, or
1 6 453B.
1 7 2. A peace officer who violates this section commits a
1 8 simple misdemeanor.
1 9 EXPLANATION
1 10 This bill provides that a peace officer shall not use a
1 11 person under the age of 18 in undercover investigations of
1 12 criminal offenses related to controlled substances. A peace
1 13 officer who violates this section commits a simple
1 14 misdemeanor.
1 15 A simple misdemeanor is punishable by confinement for no
1 16 more than 30 days or a fine of at least $50 but not more than
1 17 $500 or by both.
