PAG LIN 1 1 Section 1. Section 483A.24, subsection 14, Code 2001, is 1 2 amended to read as follows: 1 3 14. The department shall issue without charge a special 1 4 annual fishing or combined hunting and fishing license to 1 5 residents of this state who have permanent disabilities and 1 6 whose income falls below the federal poverty guidelines as 1 7 published by the United States department of health and human 1 8 servicesor, residents of this state who are sixty-five years 1 9 of age or older and whose income falls below the federal 1 10 poverty guidelines as published by the United States 1 11 department of health and human services, or residents who are 1 12 military veterans as defined in section 35.1 and are sixty- 1 13 five years of age or older. The commission shall provide for, 1 14 by rule, an application to be used by an applicant requesting 1 15 a special license. The commission shall require proof of age, 1 16 income, and proof of permanent disability. 1 17 EXPLANATION 1 18 This bill provides that the department of natural resources 1 19 shall issue a special annual fishing or combined fishing and 1 20 hunting license to residents of this state who are military 1 21 veterans as defined in Code section 35.1 and are 65 years of 1 22 age or older. 1 23 LSB 1755SS 79 1 24 tj/gg/8
