  1  1    Amend House File 2339, as passed by the House, as
  1  2 follows:
  1  3    #1.  Page 1, by striking lines 9 through 18.
  1  4    #2.  Page 1, line 19, by striking the figure "3"
  1  5 and inserting the following: "2".
  1  6    #3.  Page 1, by inserting after line 23 the
  1  7 following:
  1  8    "Sec.    .   STUDY.  The supreme court shall
  1  9 conduct a study on the feasibility and impact of
  1 10 placing reasonable limits on appeal bonds in civil
  1 11 actions for money damages.  The study shall include,
  1 12 but not be limited to, an analysis of the
  1 13 constitutionality of such limits, as well as a review
  1 14 of states that have enacted similar legislation.  The
  1 15 supreme court shall submit a report of the study's
  1 16 recommendations to the general assembly by December 1,
  1 17 2002."
  1 18    #4.  By renumbering as necessary.
