  1  1    Amend Senate File 2283 as follows:
  1  2    #1.  Page 17, by inserting after line 23 the
  1  3 following:
  1  4    "Sec.    .  Section 602.6105, Code 2001, is amended
  1  5 by adding the following new subsection:
  1  6    NEW SUBSECTION.  2A.  The court shall maintain a
  1  7 magistrate court in a city that is not the county seat
  1  8 if a magistrate court existed in that city as of July
  1  9 1, 2001, and if the city requests a magistrate.  Any
  1 10 additional costs to the judicial branch for
  1 11 maintaining a magistrate in a city other than the
  1 12 county seat shall be paid by the city requesting the
  1 13 magistrate."
  1 14    #2.  Page 19, by inserting after line 31, the
  1 15 following:
  1 16    "Sec.    .  Section 602.6401, subsection 2, Code
  1 17 2001, is amended by adding the following new
  1 18 paragraph:
  1 19    NEW PARAGRAPH.  f.  The existence of a city in the
  1 20 county other than the county seat that maintained a
  1 21 magistrate court as of July 1, 2001."
  1 22    #3.  By renumbering as necessary.
