1 2 719, as amended, passed, and reprinted by the House,
1 3 as follows:
1 4 #1. By striking page 1, line 19 through page 2,
1 5 line 3, and inserting the following:
1 6 "# . Page 4, by striking lines 18 through 35 and
1 7 inserting the following: "the department of education
1 8 in continuing this initiative.""
1 9 #2. Page 2, line 4, by inserting after the figure
1 10 "14" the following: "and inserting the following:
1 11 "e. The next $312,000 shall be allocated to the
1 12 information technology department. Of this amount,
1 13 $252,000 shall be utilized for lease-purchase costs
1 14 related to the justice data warehouse technology
1 15 project, and $60,000 shall be transferred to the
1 16 division of criminal and juvenile justice planning of
1 17 the department of human rights for 1.00 FTE to provide
1 18 support for the justice data warehouse technology
1 19 project.""
1 20 #3. Page 2, by striking lines 5 through 8 and
1 21 inserting the following:
1 22 "# . Page 5, by striking lines 15 through 17 and
1 23 inserting the following:
1 24 " . The next $1,000,000 shall be allocated to
1 25 the information technology department for
1 26 implementation of an enterprise data warehouse.
1 27 . The next $500,000 shall be allocated to the
1 28 secretary of state's office to replace the secretary
1 29 of state's voter registration system.
1 30 . The next $1,000,000 shall be allocated to the
1 31 Iowa department of workforce development for
1 32 automation of the unemployment system.
1 33 . The next $250,000 shall be allocated to the
1 34 department of agriculture and land stewardship for the
1 35 e-commerce electronic licensing project.
1 36 . The remaining amount in the pooled technology
1 37 account shall be allocated to implement the
1 38 recommendations of the information technology council.
1 39 However, none of these funds may be utilized for
1 40 asynchronous transfer mode technology conversion, the
1 41 enterprise resource planning project, or digital
1 42 broadcast conversion, or for lease-purchase payments
1 43 in connection therewith. Amounts allocated pursuant to
1 44 this paragraph shall include any reversions in excess
1 45 of those necessary to fund the justice data warehouse
1 46 project.""
1 47 #4. Page 2, by striking lines 17 through 30 and
1 48 inserting the following:
1 49 "# . Page 6, line 9, by inserting after the word
1 50 "account." the following: "Of the funds appropriated
2 1 to the pooled technology account pursuant to this
2 2 subsection which remain after the deposit to the
2 3 general fund of the state specified in unnumbered
2 4 paragraph 2, $312,000 shall be allocated to the
2 5 information technology department for lease-purchase
2 6 costs related to the justice data warehouse technology
2 7 project.""
2 8 #5. Page 4, by striking line 5 and inserting the

2 11 word "issues." the following: "The objective of the
2 12 study shall be to evaluate the viability of
2 13 establishing the state of Iowa as a distance learning
2 14 center. The study shall identify distance learning
2 15 technology opportunities between interested agencies
2 16 and entities involved in or potentially involved in
2 17 distance learning activities, including but not
2 18 limited to K-12 schools, area education agencies,
2 19 institutions of higher learning, the public
2 20 broadcasting division of the department of education,
2 21 the department of education, the Iowa communications
2 22 network, the information technology department, and
2 23 military and private sector institutions or
2 24 agencies.""
2 25 #6. By renumbering, relettering, or redesignating
2 26 and correcting internal references as necessary.
