1 3 #1. Page 5, line 17, by inserting after the word
1 4 "projects." the following: "Of the funds allocated in
1 5 this paragraph, the treasurer of state, with the
1 6 approval of the director of the department of
1 7 management, is authorized to enter into a lease-
1 8 purchase arrangement under section 12.28 for a
1 9 conversion of the Iowa communications network to
1 10 asynchronous transfer mode technology in an amount,
1 11 excluding finance costs, not greater than $10,500,000.
1 12 As required under section 12.28, subsection 6, the
1 13 general assembly authorizes the treasurer of state to
1 14 enter into a lease-purchase arrangement of greater
1 15 than $1,000,000 for this project. Annual payments for
1 16 the lease-purchase agreement shall be appropriated
1 17 from the pooled technology account. Gifts, grants,
1 18 fees, and other payments associated with this project
1 19 may be deposited in the pooled technology account to
1 20 be applied to the annual payments for the lease-
1 21 purchase agreement."
