Section 261.85, Code 2001, is amended 1 6 to read as follows: 1 7 261.85 APPROPRIATION. 1 8 There is appropriated from the general fund of the 1 9 state to the commission for each fiscal year the sum 1 10 of two millionsevenfour hundredfiftyeighty-six 1 11 thousand three hundred eighty dollars for the work- 1 12 study program. 1 13 From moneys appropriated in this section, one 1 14 millionfivethree hundred fifty-six thousand two 1 15 hundred eight dollars shall be allocated to 1 16 institutions of higher education under the state board 1 17 of regents and community colleges and the remaining 1 18 dollars appropriated in this section shall be 1 19 allocated by the commission on the basis of need as 1 20 determined by the portion of the federal formula for 1 21 distribution of work-study funds that relates to the 1 22 current need of institutions." 1 23 #3.
